What we collect, and why.

In short
We collect what a search needs, don’t sell it, and don’t use it for advertising.
1. Data we collect
Account: your email and sign-in method. Searches: the photo you upload (used, not stored), a numeric face template and image fingerprints, and the results. Purchases: plan and renewal status from the app stores; we never see your card.
2. How we use it
To run your searches, show your history, manage your plan, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure. We don’t use your data for advertising and don’t sell it.
3. Photos and face data
Your photo isn’t stored on our servers. We keep a numeric face template and image fingerprints in a shared search memory so repeat searches are faster. The memory isn’t linked to any account and has no fixed time limit today; we remove a face on request (see “Remove my face”).
4. Who processes it
Face detection and the face memory: Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt (opted out of AI training). Face search: FaceCheck.id receives a crop of the face. Image search: Google Cloud Vision receives the photo. Accounts and data: Google Firebase and Cloud in the EU. Subscriptions: RevenueCat, Apple, Google. Each processes data under its own terms.
5. How long we keep it
Searches and results: until you clear them or delete your account. Account data: until you delete your account. Face memory: as in section 3. Billing records: as long as the law requires.
6. Your rights
Clear your history and delete your account in the app at any time. Under KVKK and GDPR you can also ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or a removal: email [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.
7. Transfers abroad
Some of these providers process data outside Türkiye (in the EU and the USA). We transfer data only as the law allows.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to the people who run the service.
9. Children
Wherely is not for anyone under 18, and photos of children may not be uploaded.
10. Changes
We’ll tell you in the app before any important change to this policy.
